Next week I should get the keys to my new home.
It's an old folks bungalow owned by the local authority.
I used to own my own home but the second ex-wife and Poof! gone.
I'm not complaining though. The divorce was amicable and I'm happy with the deal.
At my age I think home ownership is a burden I can manage without - you can't take it with you after all.
A place to die ? you may ask. Always before I have been looking for somewherer to live and looking forward to creating a home for the future but now it has been a case of finding somewhere that offers security so that I can settle and live out my days without ever having to think of moving again.
There'll be things to do before I move such as decorating, buying new kitchen equipment etc.. I am quite looking forward to it. The last time I decorated a house by myself was long ago in the late seventies. Not very good at colour co-ordination but things are easier now with shops stocking furnishings that are already matched.
I can imagine it being a bit of a physcological shock it seems hardly any time since I moved into my first house with all it promised and now I will be in my last. Officially classed as old, put in a special home for old folks, ugh!
C'est la vie.

A new phase of your life to look forward to. A whole new adventure with even the furnishings colour coded for you. Gives you more time to blog!
So happy to find my way to this new ether place of yours. As you find your way to your physical location.
But you are younger than me so what is this talk of dying? Though I too think of this as my "last home" and heaven forbid if I should have to move from it.
There is something, however, to be said of our own nest - made just by and for ourselves. We look forward to progress photos.
Sorry I haven't replied to your comments. I haven't actually been here since I wrote it.
Didn't imagine it would ever be read.
Maybe I should try this blogging thing again.........maybe.
Yes perhaps you should!
Thanks to Barbara I realise that this blog is almost a year old.
I should celebrate.
Welcome home!
