A place to die

Next week I should get the keys to my new home.
It's an old folks bungalow owned by the local authority.
I used to own my own home but the second ex-wife and Poof! gone.
I'm not complaining though. The divorce was amicable and I'm happy with the deal.
At my age I think home ownership is a burden I can manage without - you can't take it with you after all.

A place to die ? you may ask. Always before I have been looking for somewherer to live and looking forward to creating a home for the future but now it has been a case of finding somewhere that offers security so that I can settle and live out my days without ever having to think of moving again.
There'll be things to do before I move such as decorating, buying new kitchen equipment etc.. I am quite looking forward to it. The last time I decorated a house by myself was long ago in the late seventies. Not very good at colour co-ordination but things are easier now with shops stocking furnishings that are already matched.
I can imagine it being a bit of a physcological shock it seems hardly any time since I moved into my first house with all it promised and now I will be in my last. Officially classed as old, put in a special home for old folks, ugh!
C'est la vie.
